Microsoft’s Worldwide Inside Sales team engaged MediaPlant to develop a Specialist Finder portal to connect account executives with subject matter experts in their organization. The site provides easy access to a global roster of SMEs that can support their sales efforts. Account executives can search for a variety of specialist types and are matched with specialists based on a variety of criteria. Specialists have access to admin tools enabling them to create profiles, manage requests, and review pending and completed engagements. All users—including account executives, specialists and their managers—can view open requests as well as gain insights from Power BI reports tracking requests by region, by volume, and by specialist type. Since launch, the Specialist Finder portal has experienced rapid adoption, and new features are continually being added in response to the growing needs of its' user base.
